Slip-O-Matic
Slip-O-Matic Centrifugal Pumps
This is the best pump design in the industry! There are no bearings or seals exposed to the slip, and it comes with a full two-year
warranty. We use this pump with several of our machines, including our T60, T100, BP24 and BP30.
The drive assembly of the Slip-O-Matic pump is what we refer to as the bearing assembly and it has no bearings or moving seals exposed to the liquid. We use this unique assembly to drive several different types of pumping systems. The original unit was a centrifugal design
with a housing and impeller. A four-leg tower is used to suspend the housing, and the impeller is fastened to the shaft.
Regardless of the shaft size used, the hole in the top of the housing is slightly larger and no bearing or seal is used at this point. As a
result, the pump can be run either in or out of the liquid with no wear or damage to the system. While this pump is not cheap to build,
there is nothing available that compares to its quality and durability.
Also, since the pump is actually suspended in the slip, the rotating drive assembly creates mixing action in the tank. And by building
different sizes of the same design, the pump can be made to meet the volume needs of various requirements and situations.
Slip-O-Matic Reversible
This pump not only pumps slip into molds, it also pumps it back out, eliminating all the heavy lifting. There is pump part wear because
the rotor and stator are exposed to the slip. A great value for those that cannot lift heavy molds and need reverse action.
Shortly after we developed the original Slip-O-Matic Centrifugal pump, we modified it and introduced a unit that both fills and drains
the molds.
These machines use the same bearing assembly, but it drives a positive displacement pump that consists of a rotor and stator. When turning
in one direction, the slip is pumped through the hose and into the mold. When the motor is switched to drain, the assembly turns the other
direction and pulls the slip from the mold back into the tank. An extension tube for the nozzle is provided to reach down inside the bottom
of the mold.
Due to the fact that the rotor is turning directly inside the stator with slip running between them, there is an abrasive wear factor on
these two parts. Over the past fifty years, we have improved the durability of the parts, but the average casting studio replaces them
about once every 12 to 14 months. The rotor is the hardened stainless steel part and it usually has a slightly longer life than the stator.
Our Model RM30, RD30 and RD630 reversible machines are fantastic when used properly. They allow you to fill and drain large molds that
would be impossible to do by hand. If the drain feature is needed and going to be used, the maintenance expense is more than worth the
benefit that is gained.

Reversible Casting Tables
Model RM30
| $1,730
Dimensions: 24"D x 45"H overall x 32"H of tank Description: 30 gallon round tank, reversible pump Operating Instructions |
The Model "M30" was the hobby ceramic industry's original slip casting machine. It was designed and introduced in 1965, and,
with several improvements and updates, the current version remains the flagship of our company. The Model RM30 has a
unique reverse pumping action which allows for both the filling and draining of molds with just a flick of a switch. The utility nozzle
easily controls the slip flow from a trickle to a full 5 GPM. The drain tube (attaches to the nozzle) is especially designed to draw in
from the sides and will not harm the greenware.
Also, by using the reverse action, the RM30 will fill itself simply by inserting the drain tube into any container of slip. The clear
plexi-glass top covers help eliminate moisture loss and allow slip storage in the tank for weeks. The drive assembly has no bearings or
seals exposed to the liquid and, as it turns, it gently mixes the slip and keeps it in ideal casting condition.
The 30 gallon fiberglass tank has a steel frame with 3 heavy duty casters and it can be turned around within a 24" space. It uses a 1/2
h.p., 110 volt motor and the machine is shipped fully assembled and ready to be put to work.

The Model RD30 has a unique reverse action pump that both fills and drains molds with just a flick of a switch. The utility
nozzle easily controls the slip flow from a trickle to a full 5 GPM. The drain tube (attaches to the nozzle) is designed to draw in from
the sides and will not harm the greenware.
By using the reverse, the RD30 fills itself simply by inserting the drain tube into any slip container. The drive assembly has no
bearings or seals exposed to the liquid and, as it turns, it gently mixes the slip, keeping it in ideal casting condition.
The 30 gallon fiberglass tank has a steel frame with 4 heavy duty casters for greater mobility. The open drain area has 11 dowels for
convenient table top casting and dumping. It has a 1/2 h.p., 110 volt motor and it is shipped fully assembled and ready for casting.
